OnDot and Melancholy Labs
Melancholy Labs builds moments where new technology becomes useful in everyday life. We cross the boundaries between product planning, design, development, and operations to turn ideas into products.
When children move out or a long-held job comes to an end, more time opens up in the day. That freedom can be welcome, but it can also bring a new question: “What do I want to do with my days now?”
There are things to learn and interests to return to. The hard part comes next. Local classes, support programs, groups, and work opportunities are scattered across different places. Even after finding something appealing, applying, fitting it into a schedule, and actually going are left to the individual. “I would like to try” often never becomes “I did it.”
OnDot is a lifestyle AI service that connects those steps.
- Discover — People can speak naturally—“Is there something I could learn with others near my home?”—and find relevant activities and opportunities.
- Make it part of life — Application steps, deadlines, schedules, and preparation become clear next actions that fit into the day.
- Record and create — Photos and stories from the day become records, writing, and video.
- Connect — Those experiences can lead to people with shared interests, groups, and new work opportunities.
OnDot’s primary users are people in their 50s to 70s. We do not see them as “the elderly” or as people who struggle with technology. They have spent years working, caring for family, and building their own experiences and interests. OnDot makes choices easy to see while leaving the decision to each person.
What you will do
Review the current OnDot web and app information architecture, language, screens, and flows. Shape an experience that people in their 50s to 70s can use comfortably to discover opportunities and take action. Clear choices, obvious next steps, and easy recovery from mistakes matter more than simply enlarging text.
Make prototypes and real screens quickly. Use AI tools where they help with research, copy, exploration, and implementation. Put work in front of users, learn, and iterate.
Translate OnDot’s philosophy and our company vision of technology that reaches people into concrete interface and content decisions.

The proposal need not be a finished product design. A concise explanation of the problem you found and how you would approach it is enough.
How to apply
Email the items below in any format. A focused proposal covering one or two flows and around two to four screens is enough.
- Résumé and portfolio: show your role, the reasoning behind your choices, and the results.
- OnDot improvement proposal: review the current web and app, then choose one or two flows you would redesign for comfortable use by people in their 50s to 70s. Show screens or a prototype and explain why your changes fit OnDot’s philosophy and the company vision.
- Making process: briefly name the AI tools you used, the decisions you made yourself, and what you would test with users next.
- How your usual LLM sees your collaboration style: enter the Korean prompt below into the AI tool you use most and paste its answer in full. It is fine if the answer says there is not enough conversation history.
